The Thunder Bay Chill claimed their very 1st Heartland Division title with a 10 - 3 - 3 overall regular season record.  It was also the first time for the Chill to advance to the play-offs in Pontiac, Michigan. The Chill was matched with 2nd place Great Lakes division club Chicago Fire losing 2-1. 

Brandon Swartzendruber and Gustavo Oliveira developed a magic tandem often referred to as "Batman and Robin". Swartzendruber finished 2nd in overall PDL scoring and Oliveira finished 1st in overall PDL assists for the season.
