Thunder Bay, ON –  The Thunder Bay Chill are looking forward to returning to USL2 action in 2022 after a two year absence in the league due to the Co-vid virus.

The Club is cautiously optimistic that normalcy is around the corner and government will begin to ease border restrictions which is crucial for the operations of the team.

"With many of our players coming to us globally and league play in the USA, the details of the border opening is crucial to our existence," states President Tony Colistro.

The club did not participate in the 2020 and 2021 USL League Two campaign. This difficult decision was made from an abundance of caution, with the health and safety of everyone at the club as our top priority, including our incoming players, staff, supporters, and sponsors.

Although the Club was not able to perform on the field, dedicated work behind the scenes have given coaching and marketing staff the opportunity to prepare for a solid return in 2022.

"It's important that we not only return with a quality team of players to compete for another North American championship but as well to structure an enjoyable fan experience as we return back to our home at Chapples Park," replied Colistro.
