We are happy to announce that the Thunder Bay Chill in consultation with its sport partners Canada Soccer, the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario, Ontario Soccer Association, and the Public Health agency have developed our Return to Play Guide – Phase 1.
The Thunder Bay Chill - Phase 1 program will consist of modified individual training allowing players to return to the field while keeping consistent with physical distancing measures. This will consist of no contact and no games.
The program will take place at Chapples Park during the month of July for 4 weeks consisting of 12 sessions. Program will start Tuesday July 7th, 2020 and end Thursday July 30th. The scheduled days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Each session will be 1-hour time blocks. We will be offering a morning session and evening session. Participants can register for both AM and PM sessions separately if they prefer. The cost of each program is $150.00. Register early as spots are limited to only 16 players/field/hour. We will be using all three fields at Chapples (CP1, CP2, and CP3). Registration will open on-line on Thursday July 2, 2020 at 9:00am and close on Saturday July 4th at 9:00pm.
Participants will receive specific notice regarding protocols identifying the specific time and field space to report for each session after registration closes. We are not able to allow participants to pick specific hours. At the completion of the registration, staff will organize participants into specific age cohorts with the younger groups starting at the first hour block.
Am Session – 9:00am, 10:15am, 11:30am, 12:45am
Pm Session – 5:00pm, 6:15pm, 7:30pm, 8:45pm
The Province of Ontario and Health Agency must approve the next phase of re-opening, before we can run a program in Phase 2 allowing for small-sided games.
