Thunder Bay, ON – The Thunder Bay Chill is happy to announce that we have added a new staff member to our technical program. We welcome Francesco Leuzzi to our team. Francesco will assume the goalkeeping responsibilities along side our present keeper coach Antonio Notarbartolo.

Francesco brings a wealth of experience as a Goalkeeper and now a full time Goalkeeper coach. Francesco grew up in Bari, Italy. As a player Francesco has guarded nets for teams in high profile leagues such as Serie C2 and D in Italy. He presently obtains an UEFA B specializing in Goalkeeper training. He made the move to Canada and worked with several Ottawa youth soccer clubs for the past few years before committing to the Thunder Bay Chill.

Unfortunately, the present health crisis has put a hold on Club training but look to see Francesco’s first goalkeeping video sessions in the upcoming week of the Stay at Home Chill program.

“I am looking forward to get on the field with all the Chill keepers as well the opportunity to introduce myself to all the Chill families which I hear so many good things about,” states Leuzzi.

“We have been fortunate that for the past twenty years, many great local goalie coaches have stepped up to support our goalkeepers and we are forever grateful to them all. The addition of Francesco as a full-time keeper coach completes our well-rounded technical staff,” states President Tony Colistro.

Francesco will work alongside Notarbartolo in developing and increasing the number of quality youth keepers for the Club. In addition, Leuzzi will also work with the USL2 staff and oversee the goalkeeping responsibilities.
