The Chill Select Female competed in the Senior Women’s Division I play-off
Final on Tuesday evening where they faced Grand Portage Velocity.
The Chill Selects took the leading scoring twice as Kaelah Cotter chipped
the keeper and moments later Alana Topitigh struck home the Chill’s second
goal. Velocity did not quit as they scored twice to come back and tie the
game. In the second half the Chill took the lead with a brilliant
strike from Ashlyn Cook. With the Chill up 3-2, again the Velocity equalized
with a strike from Hayley Robertson that saw the ball trickle across the
line.
This sent the game to Kicks from the Penalty Spot, Anna Maclean, Jaqueline
Locke, Ashlyn Cook and Alyssa Carpino all scored Penalty Shots giving the
Chill Select Female the 2011 Senior Women’s Division I Play-off title
