Chill Foster International Relationships
Players From Barbados on Trial in Thunder Bay

The Thunder Bay Chill is continuing to build international relationships around the world. This week, three players from the Bagatelle Football Club (BFC) in Barbados, are in Thunder Bay participating in a trial for the purpose of identifying players for next season.

BFC was started in 2007, with Bagatelle located in the parish of St. Thomas, just outside Barbados’s fastest growing town, Warrens. Like the town of Warrens, the BFC has grown quickly, and proof of this can be seen in the three prospects that have traveled all the way to Northwestern Ontario. Goalkeeper Mario Albert (18 years old), Midfielder/Forward Arantees Lawrence (26), and Midfielder Inron Ponteen (23), all bring different talents and abilities that showcase the system of player development that the BFC provides to its athletes.

The players, who will be in Thunder Bay until Saturday, July 24th, 2010, have already had time to impress Chill Head Coach Tony Colistro, and have exposed the Chill to a new pool of potential players. "The players are here for us to look at for next season, but we are also trying to establish a relationship with the Barbados Soccer Association, which is a relatively untapped soccer market," said Colistro.

The Chill are well known for the international flavour that features in it’s squad each year, and this latest initiative continues the theme of connecting Thunder Bay with the world. Chill coaching staff and the BFC players will be available for comment upon request.
