Chill Earn Victory in Springfield

The Thunder Bay Chill has turned things around on the road with a 3-0 win on Tuesday night over the Springfield Demize. The Chill has now evened their win-loss record on their current four game road trip to one win and one loss. 

 
The Chill opened the scoring in the 12th minute; after they were awarded a penalty from a hand ball in the box. Anthony Putrus converted the penalty to put the Chill up 1-0. After the early lead, the Chill settled in and kept the Demize at bay till the 71st minute, when Christian Fernandes slotted home the second goal of the game, extending the Chill’s lead by two. 
 
Fernandes completed the brace in the 81st minute, putting the Chill up by three, and effectively sealing the victory. Scott Milroth, Nolan Intermoia and Alex Yoshinga all received yellows in the game, but none will lead to suspension.
 
The team’s focus now turns to Kansas City, where the Chill will face the Brass on Thursday July 2nd at 8:00 p.m. (EDT) at William Jewell College.
